My journey with photography began when I was just a 7-year-old kid wandering around a swap meet in Lincoln, Nebraska with my dad. There, he bought me my first camera, a little plastic one, which I used until it virtually fell apart.My dad, who was quite the shutterbug himself, passed down his beloved Canon AE-1 to me in 6th grade. This camera was his college companion and it has stayed with me for over 28 years. His passion for photography and his habit of documenting our family vacations were my first introduction to the art form. In high school, I took every photography class I could get my hands on. I found myself winning the senior photography contest for the state of Nebraska, which gave me the confidence to turn my passion into a career.I studied commercial advertising and fashion photography at the Art Institute of Colorado. In 2010, I shot my first wedding and as they say, the rest is history. When I'm not behind the lens, you can usually find me packing a bag for my next adventure with my husband and our loyal pup. We spent a year and a half traveling through South America and Canada, living the van life. Those travels taught us so much and inspired countless photographs.
